Week 3 Activity 3

For this activity, my dad told me about his father. His name is Jerry and he grew up in Wichita, Kansas. At age 8, he became interested in music and got his first guitar which was a steel guitar. This steel guitar sprouted his love  for music and the wonderful string instrument. At the age of 13, my grandpa Jerry started to play guitar professionally on a local television show. Later on in his life, he went to Wichita State for college but only stayed for one year. In 1962, Grandpa Jerry moved to San Fransisco to continue his music career. In San Fransisco, he played with John Handy and went on tour with The 5th Dimension. In 1970, my grandfather started his own band called the Jerry Hahn Brotherhood. In the late 1970’s he retired from the Jerry Hahn Brotherhood and became a music teacher at his old college. That is all about my grandfather Jerry.

I found this picture on my grandfather’s website and I got permission from him to use this picture.

Week 3 Activity 5

I have learned that you have to think before posting an image. One thing to think about is where that image came from. If the image was from google images or from someone’s website, someone else has the rights to that image and it can not be posted on one’s blog or website without their approval. Unless you took that photo, always get permission from the owner of the picture. If you don’t have permission, that is copyright and copyright leads to much more serious problems. Also, do not have the picture that is being posted on the internet to include any personal information of the person in the image. This could lead to identity theft wish also causes much more serious and complicated problems that nobody wants to deal with. I learned a lot about posting images on my blog.

Week 3 Activity 6

My native language is English. The picture I chose is a picture I took of a place called Point Lobos in Monterey County. While my cousins, family, and I were visiting my Grandma at her beach house in Monterey, we decided to go on a hike. We found Point Lobos and thought it would be perfect for a hike. It was beautiful there. There were tons of seals and otters lurking around in the water and in the forrest part of Point Lobos, there were a lot of deer. The beautiful blue ocean looked amazing as the sunlight reflected off the surface of the water. The hike at Point Lobos was definitely the highlight of my visit to Monterey.

Week 4 Activity 1

For my blog I used http://wilstar.com/holidays/hallown.htm and http://portervillesoccer.com/?p=1431 to find pictures to decorate my blog for Halloween. I chose these pictures because they are appealing to the eye and spooky. These pictures both portray symbolism for Halloween such as the pumpkin and the haunted house. I believe these two images are perfect to decorate my blog in the Halloween spirit.

Week 4 Activity 3

Every year, a day before Halloween, my brother and I start off the festivity for Halloween by carving some pumpkins. We have both never been good at carving pumpkins, so both pumpkins end up with the cliche triangle nose and square eyes. On Halloween day, I go trick or treating with my friends in either their neighborhood or a neighborhood of their choosing. We then trick or treat until we don’t want to anymore and when we get tired of trick or treating, we just hang out. Every year, since kindergarten, I have always ended off my Halloween by going to my friend Aidan’s Halloween party. We either watch scary movies there or just talk and eat candy. Thats how I spend my Halloween every year.

My Avatar- Week One, Activity Two

My avatar has messy, curly brown hair and a blue sweatshirt with rolled up sleeves. My avatar represents me because I too have dark brown curly hair. The avatar and I also both have brown eyes. The avatar I created is wearing what symbolizes my favorite sweatshirt, that is so comfortable and I love to wear. Here is the link to the website I used to create my avatar: http://www.weeworld.com

About Me- Week One, Activity Three

My name is Jason and I am 13 years old. Things I love to do include playing baseball with my friends, going on vacations with my family, playing the 4 instruments that I play, and most of all, snowboarding. I started snowboarding when I was 5 years old, and I have loved it ever since. I live in a family of 4 (5 if you include my dog). I live with my mom, Jody, my dad, Miles, my brother, Ethan, and my dog, Sydney. In the summer, my family, my cousins, and my grandmother take a trip to Mexico where we zip-line, relax at the beach, and have a great time. Another one of my hobbies is baseball. I have been playing baseball since I was five. I started in tee-ball and worked my way up to pony. I currently play 4 instruments (trombone, drums, guitar, and piano) and I am in a jazz band and my school. That’s all about me!
